Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister`s Visit to the Ministry of National Defence

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, met on Monday, 17 February, with Igor Lukssiae, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, who makes an official visit in Romania.

The meeting agenda included talks on regional cooperation and focused on military bilateral cooperation. The two officials also discussed the new NATO posture following the end of ISAF mission in Afghanistan.

Mircea Dusa talked of our willingness to intensify the political and military dialogue of the two countries and appreciated the Montenegrin constructive approach to the development of projects within the South Eastern Defence Ministerial (SEDM), whose chairmanship was taken over by Romania in 2013, together with that of SEECAP. The Romanian minister said that Romania and Montenegro have similar positions as to the future of SEDM, with a focus on quality, efficiency and pragmatism in developing the projects of this initiative.

'We appreciate Montenegro`s reforms on its way to Euro Atlantic integration and its constant contribution to ISAF, to NATO-led operations as well as its availability to contribute to post-ISAF training, advising and assisting mission', minister Dusa declared, further emphasizing that Romania endorses Montenegro’s aspirations to European and Euro Atlantic integration.
